Dim the lights please. This week we’re featuring the Sony A7s for its lowlight capabilities.
We’re bringing the Sony A7s front and centre for it’s unbelievable low-light capabilities. Because of this, many producers are combining shots from the Sony A7s with their other kit.
The Sony’s image quality is unaffected by high and low ISOs, which is why many filmmakers have put this camera to the test by utilising only the moonlight for night sequences.
Below, Moonriders by Christian Mülhauser features shots recorded between 40000 and 51200 ISO with f/2.8 aperture. Watch as the riders glide down the bottom of the Matterhorn mountain in the alps.
You can also see the Sony A7s’ performance in this short film submitted to Sundance Ignite Film Challenge by Sal Redpath. Echo is an emotional short depicting a young boy’s last moment with his father.
