KitMapper Staff Picks

We’ve introduced you to the Kit Pick of the Week. But this week we wanted to change things up and give you more, by asking the team what their favourite Kit is.

Together we chose an eclectic mix of kit for film, photography and exhibitions. We’ve curated some of our best kept secrets. Feel free to have a look and maybe even add a few of these picks to your next shoot or show.

1. Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro

Andrew— £100 per day. It’s always tough comparing the Blackmagic URSA Mini to the Red Epic, which came to a close tie. But we chose the Blackmagic URSA Mini for it’s image sharpness. It uses the exact same sensor as the Red and is interchangeable. At £100 per day from Andrew you can’t go wrong here.

Steve — £30 per day. This Dedolight kit is super portable, and easy to setup for any shoot. Lighting is so crucial to everything we do, and using this lighting kit versatilely enhances the feel of any scene. Steve has listed a real steal here for only £30 per day.

Christopher — £200 per dayThese primes are just what you need for crisp lowlight shots. Particularly for photography, we love it’s faster aperture allowing for a shallower depth of field. For £200 a day for the whole set, you’re really getting your value from Christopher.

KitMapper — £10 per dayWe really love the ability of a simple projector to transform the feel of a space. Recently this projector was featured at our BYOB event. It’s a simple, lightweight option, to plug-and-play from your SD card. This setup is perfect for an exhibition.

Arturo — £50 a dayNothing beats the colours, depth, feel and sound of celluloid cameras. The Super 8’s grainy image brings a nostalgic feel to film that we all love. Just give us a projector and some popcorn. Arturo has listed this Super 8mm camera for only £50 per day.

There you have it! The team will be back next month with their say on the best equipment KitMapper has to offer.
